CCP is all about environmental sustainability.
Union Park Reservoir, to be located off-river near the Continental Divide in Gunnison National Forest, is a key feature of CCP’s advanced Western energy and water conservation concept.
Recent “Feasibility Level Geological and Geotechnical Investigations, and Preliminary Design Studies for Union Park Dam” confirmed that this 575-feet-high structure can safely store up to 1.2 million acre-feet of water (Colorado’’s largest reservoir) for the region’s highest priority energy and water needs.
Construction of Union Park’s modern roller compacted concrete (RCC) dam can be completed in approximately 18 months. The dam’s estimated construction cost is 395 million dollars, which is only 330 dollars per acre-foot of multi-purpose storage.
